The Steep Price of Horrible Discomfort

We have no idea what the actual item is supposed to be, but our assumption is that something got lost in the translation. Even so, $52 seems like an exceptionally steep price for what promises to be world-class intestinal discomfort.

It's a bad translation, but not that bad. "Baau" means "exploded" in Cantonese (this picture was taken in Hong Kong) and refers to specially-cut food that is dropped into immensely hot oil. It essentially turns itself inside out, like popcorn. "Exploded" is a pretty accurate description.

The proper translation, with some poetic license, is "crispy-fried large intestine done the usual way".
